Author Guidelines
These guidelines provide authors with clear instructions for preparing and submitting manuscripts to Heighpubs Otolaryngology and Rhinology (HOR). Following these ensures smooth editorial processing, compliance with international publishing standards, and improved chances of acceptance. HOR aligns with ICMJE Recommendations, COPE guidelines, and WAME principles.

General Formatting Requirements
- Language: Manuscripts must be in clear English.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced.
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- File type: Microsoft Word (.docx) preferred.
- Figures: High-resolution TIFF/JPEG (300 dpi minimum).
- Tables: Editable format, not embedded images.
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should generally follow the IMRaD format:
- Title Page: Title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author details, and ORCID IDs.
- Abstract: Structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion), 250 words maximum.
- Keywords: 3–6 terms for indexing.
- Introduction: Context, rationale, and objectives.
- Methods: Detailed methodology, ethical approval, statistical analysis.
- Results: Findings supported by figures/tables.
- Discussion: Interpretation, comparison with prior work, limitations, implications.
- Conclusion: Key findings and future directions.
- Acknowledgments: Funding, contributions, and disclosures.
- References: Vancouver style preferred.
Ethical Compliance
- Human studies: Declaration of Helsinki compliance, informed consent required.
- Animal studies: ARRIVE guidelines and institutional approval mandatory.
- Clinical trials: Must include registration number (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov).
- Conflicts of interest: Full disclosure in manuscript.
Figures and Tables
All figures must be numbered consecutively and include descriptive captions. Tables must be self-explanatory and referenced in the text. Data duplication between figures and tables should be avoided.
References
HOR follows the NLM style. Citations must be numbered in the text in square brackets [1]. Reference list should be arranged in order of citation.
Supplementary Material
Authors may submit supplementary files (datasets, videos, appendices) to enhance transparency and reproducibility. These are published alongside the article.
Preprints
HOR accepts submissions previously posted as preprints. Authors must disclose preprint DOI/link upon submission.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Authors are responsible for APCs as detailed in our Charges Policy. Waivers and discounts are available for eligible authors.
Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted through the online submission system. Authors must:
